Dell Inspiron 3048 i3048-4286BLK is an All-in-One desktop with a 20 inch HD+ touchscreen designed for performing basic daily multimedia and other tasks- work or entertainment with its Haswell Intel Pentium processor released in the second quarter of 2014 and to avoid clutter on your desk. So it is a machine you’d want to get if you use the computer for web browsing, word processing, streaming videos, light gaming and similar stuff but not super demanding multimedia or 3D games. A large 19.5 inch touch display (computer tower is in the screen anyway) as well as wired keyboard and mouse are included in the price.

Dell Inspiron 3048 has the dual core Intel Pentium Processor G3240T (3MB cache) with 2.7 GHz speed with no turbo boost and no hyper threading functions, 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1600 MHz for basic multitasking (4GB x1)- high-bandwidth to run multiple apps and browsers simultaneously with not much lags, 500 GB 5400 rpm spindle speed hard drive to store quite a bit of multimedia and regular files with standard read/write times and Windows 8.1 operating system. Pentium G3240T has the Passmark benchmark score of 3006 on this review date and has a TDP of 35W for energy efficiency. It offers average level daily performance- capable for daily tasks but not for very demanding applications.

19.5 inch LED backlit antiglare HD+ capacitive touchscreen with 1600 x 900 pixels max screen resolution for great picture quality with fine details and vivid colours and basic Haswell Intel HD graphics adequate for daily multimedia- videos, photos (including some editing) and songs as well as older game titles but not advanced multimedia editing or gaming. This is a capacitive touch display that uses sensors under the glass for more accuracy and responsiveness, unlike the optical touch that uses cams in bezel to track motion. It has the Waves MaxxAudio technology that won the technical Grammy award and integrated stereo speakers for beautiful sound for when you’re watching movies, listening to songs or playing games. Intel HD comes with the Intel Wireless Display, Quick Sync Video features and Clear Video HD Technology and supports up to 3 screens. It comes with a 1.0MP 1280x720 HD webcam for chatting live with friends and family or teleconferencing with colleagues on Skype.

Dell Inspiron 3048 i3048-4286BLK 20-Inch All-in-One Touchscreen Desktop Review
Black Dell Inspiron 3048 All-in-One has an elegant and modern single cord convenient design with a slim monitor with smooth edges that will help you avoid cable clutter on your desk, while making it easy to set the machine up. For how much you’re paying, it is quite a show-off material in your house- looks more premium than its price tag suggests. It weighs 11.7 pounds with dimensions of 19.17 x 2.64 x 12.95 inches so it is both lightweight and slim for a budget All-in-One PC. Connectivity options include DVD/CD Optical Drive, 802.11bgn wireless, 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth 4.0 to link to other devices wirelessly or transfer multimedia between the PC and Bluetooth-enabled cell phone or MP3, 4 x USB 2.0 ports and 2 x USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI out port, Media Card Reader that supports SD, SDHC, SDXC and MultiMediaCard formats, Headphone output, HD webcam with built-in microphone and wired keyboard and mouse.

Conclusion: Dell Inspiron i3048-4286BLK is a great value basic All-in-One desktop PC with a HD+ anti glare touch screen with bright colours and fine details. It is not suitable for very complex tasks so don’t expect to run advanced engineering or multimedia software or play the latest games fluently but great for any other everyday tasks. Neither the Pentium CPU nor the Haswell Intel HD graphics card is fit for very demanding things, you need at least a mid-range dedicated graphics card and Intel i5 or i7 processor. It is very easy to set-up when you first open the box and is easy to use. Some people will always complain about the Windows 8 but the newer 8.1 is certainly better and it is a good operating system to use with touch screen. It is slim and lightweight, looks quite good and is nice to have less wires and clutter on your desk. We like that it includes a good range of connectivity ports, great sound and image for videos, songs and games, decent webcam for live chats and the low price you pay includes a good quality screen, basic keyboard and mouse. Good value for money if you will spend most of your computer time on the internet or perform other daily basic tasks.
