Dell Inspiron i3647-769BK is another nice addition to the latest 3000 line of Dell desktops: It is a small tower that performs tasks efficiently and quickly and is offered with a low price tag- this is a budget computer and not for heavy gaming, multimedia editing or demanding engineering software, although it doesn't offer lower specs and features.

Dell Inspiron desktop comes with an Intel Celeron-G1820 (2 MB cache) processor at 2.7 GHz speed with Intel HD Integrated Graphics, 4GB DDR3 RAM memory, 500 GB hard drive at 7200 rpm rotating speed, Windows 8.1 operating system.. Celeron G1820 is a new processor that offers a reasonable price to performance ratio and it is relatively fast (2.7 GHz speed seems to be high for a computer at this price range), although not as as good as an i3 processor but significantly cheaper. You will be able to run your daily things (spreadsheets, word processing, internet browsing, playing songs and movies) smoothly though, partly thanks to the good amount- 4GB of system memory on it, which should enable easy multitasking without lags and you shouldn't need to upgrade it for a while. 2 MB cache means your commonly used apps and programs will launch faster.

500 GB hard drive seems to be the regular size in the contemporary laptops and desktops and usually more than sufficient for most users, especially for something designed for office use. If you go into saving lots of videos on your hard drive, that may be another story and you can always get an external hard drive. It comes with the latest Windows 8.1 (with its extra useful functions) preinstalled, so you will not need to upgrade it from Windows 8. Most customers report to enjoy Win 8 and 8.1 once they get used to it- an interesting operating system actually. The Intel HD graphics card is an integrated one and it seems to be a capable one for decent quality visuals- picture and graphics.

Dell Inspiron i3647-769BK Desktop Review
Although compact- weighs under 16 lbs with dimensions of 19.88 x 15.39 x 10.32 inches, Dell Inspiron comes with a good variety of connectivity ports and options: Dell Wireless-N 1705 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 for wireless connection to Bluetooth printers, keyboards, speakers etc., 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet with RJ-45 port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 4 x USB 3.0 ports that enable super speed data transfer, DVD±RW optical drive, 8-in-1 Media Card Reader, VGA port to link to external monitors and an HDMI port to large screen HDTVs, wired Dell USB Optical mouse and keyboard.

Conclusion: Dell Inspiron i3647-769BK desktop, like the other machines of the 3000 series, looks nice, modern and has the future proof factor in terms of certain features, despite being a low-cost machine. The size is certainly an advantage as you can take it from one room or place to another easily and it will take very little space on your desk, but some ports- including USB at the front would have been convenient. This is a budget computer for light to moderate users with average technical specs but good quality components and it is capable of running your daily things efficiently. Definitely recommended, especially if you are on a budget.
