Modern and well designed snow white HP 11-2010nr is an ultra-thin 11.6 inch diagonal HD display Chromebook that runs on Chrome OS with automatically updated apps, with up to 6-6.5 hour battery life, to socialise online, surf the net or play games- mostly through online apps. The default browser is Google Chrome as you can imagine and no Internet Explorer or Firefox. It doesn’t have the Microsoft Excel, Word or Powerpoint but has Google Sheets, Docs and Slides instead and no Skype but Google Hangouts. It is a great little machine offered at a very affordable price but given its certain limitations, it can’t be for everyone, but let’s find out how it would work out for you.

HP Chromebook 11-2010nr has the Samsung Exynos 5250 processor at 1.7 GHz (expect better performance and speed than more expensive Windows machines), 2 GB DDR3L SDRAM for sufficient multitasking power (2GB may not look like a lot but you can have more than ten Chrome browsers open at the same time with no lags or freezing- just do not expect to run very demanding applications), 16 GB Solid-State Drive with speed and snappy performance overall and to boot up or wake up from hibernation quickly but small in size as storage. So you will rely on Cloud Google Drive and it will let you have access up to 100GB of your files on whatever device or location- at home or out (should be used within 60 days of the purchase of this Chromebook) and naturally Chrome OS with built-in security and constant auto updates without you needing to do any manual updates.

11.6 inch diagonal HD WLED-backlit display with 1366x768 pixels max screen resolution offers good enough picture quality for a budget machine that is purchased for basic daily use (this is not Full HD with IPS feature but you will not realise that much difference as this is only an 11.6 inch machine). Sound quality is quite good as it has the HD Audio with stereo speakers and you get the trial version of Google Play/Music application so you can enjoy your favourite music anywhere on playlists or by playing radio stations online without restrictions and all your songs will be saved online and you will not need to worry about running out of storage space. It has a front facing VGA Webcam with integrated digital microphone- not HD for video chats on Hangouts (no Skype on Chromebooks yet).

HP Imprint finish with the gradient micro dot design in soothing snow white and anodized silver Chromebook 11 weighs only 2.7 lbs and has the dimensions of 8.10 x 11.81 x 0.81 inches and offers an average battery life of up to 6.25 hours from its 3-cell 30WHr lithium-ion polymer battery. It has a full keyboard and HP Imagepad supporting multi-touch gestures blended nicely into the slim chassis but no numpad for easy data entry because of the small size factor. Connectivity options include the 2x2 802.11a/b/g/n wireless, Bluetooth 4.0, 2 x USB 2.0 ports (no USB 3.0 port), 1 x Audio-out port, 1 Headphone-out/microphone-in combo jack, Kensington MicroSaver lock slot for security and a VGA Webcam. It has no Optical DVD Drive (and Chrome OS does not support DVD formats yet- you can connect an external one but that would be read-only) and no HDMI port so you can’t connect to your larger screen HDTV.

Conclusion: HP Chromebook 11 G6T29UA#ABA is suitable for work, school or home entertainment if you will need to use the computer mainly for and on internet. You will find thousands of free and paid apps to improve your productivity and games on Chrome Web Store. Sure there are certain restrictions of Chrome systems but it is still a well built and designed small computer that is great for daily tasks that are performed mainly on the internet- it is better and more capable than a tablet despite the low cost and small size, which is probably also a positive for portability and appealing small and cute looks. You probably won’t need a more expensive or more powerful machine just for internet, word processing, listening to music, video streaming or playing light games. It comes with a 12 month limited hardware warranty with toll-free customer support and you get 24 hours 7 days a week tech support via phone or remote access through HP SmartFriend. It is an Energy Star qualified and EPEAT Silver registered machine (arsenic-free screen glass, mercury-free display backlighting and being low halogen and more) and highly recommended at its current very low price.
