The simplistic yet modern design HP 110-216 desktop covers all the basics and offers good performance levels at quite a low price. For daily tasks, the AMD A6 processor accompanied with good amounts of memory and hard drive is more than enough for an average home computer user or home office worker for any of the daily stuff while letting them play many games at low to medium settings. It offers a few of the modern day connectivity options too, such as USB 3.0 ports, SuperMulti DVD drive and more.

HP 110-216 desktop comes with an AMD quad core A6-5200 accelerated processor (2MB L2 cache) at 2.0GHz speed, 4GB DDR3 RAM memory at 1600MHz that is expandable to a maximum of 16GB, 1TB Serial ATA hard drive at 7200rpm plus 25GB Cloud storage free for lifetime from Box and the latest Windows 8.1 operating system.. Both the processor and the 4GB memory size enable you to perform most of your common daily tasks smoothly and efficiently by letting you run demanding programs and at the same time. The computer will also be able to start from zero in about 10 to 15 seconds too.

1TB = 1024GB is quite a lot of space as storage for all your regular files, photos, songs and videos and the 7200rpm speed is impressive for a hard drive of a budget system. Then you have the cloud storage to have access to your important files at whichever location you are. You won’t need to upgrade from Windows 8 to 8.1 either as it comes pre-installed and offers some extra useful features you will enjoy. The graphics card is AMD Radeon HD 8400 with 2048MB total graphics memory that helps improve the quality of videos and photos, although it is not for those latest advanced games (and you probably can’t have that at this price level). For sound quality, you’ll find the High Definition Audio with 5.1 surround sound capacity.

HP 110-216 Desktop Review
Black HP 110-216 Desktop weighs just under 12 pounds and has the measurements of 15.14 x 6.50 x 14.33 inches. Connectivity options included are: 2 x USB 3.0 ports at the rear with ten times faster file transfers, 4 x USB 2.0 ports (2 front and 2 rear), SuperMulti DVD Drive with fast CD and DVD read/write rates, 802.11bgn Wireless LAN, HP 7-in-1 Multimedia Card Reader, 10/100 Base-T Network, 1x1 audio-out port, Headphone and Microphone, VGA+DVI-D at the back, USB keyboard with volume control and optical mouse and 65 watt external power supply. It is an Energy Star qualified machine and EPEAT Silver registered so it is both energy efficient and respects the environment.

Conclusion: HP 110-216 desktop is a great budget computer with speed and performance for your home entertainment, school or home office needs with its more than sufficient AMD processor, generous amounts of memory and hard drive. It looks good, works quietly, is easy to set-up and install out of the box, Windows 8.1 already comes pre-installed with its customisable tiles and additional features and sure it may take some getting used to for some people. It comes with a limited 1 year hardware warranty and HP Total Care 24x7 technical support and customer service in US and during office hours in Latin America and Canada during this 1 year period. Sure it is not an advanced gaming PC and may have small flaws but we couldn’t find anything to criticise when looked at it from a sub $400 PC perspective and you certainly do get heaps more than what you pay for with this HP.
