HP 15-g070nr is a 15.6-Inch budget laptop with an E series dual core entry level processor but with modern day features and is adequate for simple tasks like web browsing, Microsoft Office tasks- Word and Excel, viewing photos and videos and light games- older titles may run fluently and not system intensive applications. It is offered at a very affordable price but let’s see if it would be good value for your needs.

HP 15-g070nr comes with an AMD E1-6010 processor (1MB cache) at 1.35GHz with no turbo boost and a max power consumption of only 10 watts- making it a super low voltage processor, 4 GB DDR3L SDRAM to multitask smoothly, 500 GB 5400 rpm SATA hard drive at 5400rpm rotating speed that would be enough for most regular computer users and with fast read/write times, 25 GB of Cloud storage free for life and Windows 8.1 operating system with useful features and the familiar desktop start screen similar to Windows 7 but with a start button that functions a little differently with left and right clicks.

15.6-Inch Active Matrix TFT Color WLED backlit diagonal HD Brightview widescreen with 16:9 cinematic aspect ratio, 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and AMD Radeon R2 graphics processor offers decent image quality for photos, movies and light games and the screen is probably the strongest point of this laptop but neither the CPU nor the Radeon R2 are sufficient for the latest games or very demanding tasks. It has a keyboard with well spaced out keys and a 10-key numeric pad for easy calculations and a touchpad that supports multiple gestures. You can expect to get up to 6 hours of average battery life from its 3-cell 31WHr lithium-ion polymer battery but less if you’re streaming a movie or playing a game.

Black liquorice HP 15-g070nr with matte lid and glossy bits around the keyboard and touchpad weighs only 4.83 pounds with measurements of 10.20 x 14.88 x 1 inches- thin, lightweight and portable. There is no DVD drive on this model, but IEEE 802.11bgn wireless, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 1 x USB 3.0 port, 1 x Audio-out port, an HDMI port, a VGA port, a memory slot, a Media Card Reader and a VGA webcam with built-in microphone. HP Connected Photo to synchronise images across different devices, HP Connected Music to combine your song collection, HP SimplePass to gain access to your different accounts quicker while staying safe are useful additions to this budget computer.

Conclusion: HP 15-g070nr is a low-cost notebook that still looks good with a neat design and that comes with decent specs and features and is designed for those that just want to perform their light tasks on a daily basis with its entry level AMD processor but generous amounts of system memory and hard drive so they get delay-free performance in lighter tasks. So the screen quality, RAM and HDD and connectivity options are its stronger points and the E1-6010 processor is the weak link and despite its lighter and slower dual core AMD processor, it may still be one of your best options at this price level. It comes with a 1 year limited warranty for parts and labor as well as a toll-free customer support.
