Graphite colour HP Pavilion x2-13-p120ca is a modern 13.3 inch ‘laptop and tablet in one’ detachable computer with a quad core AMD A6 processor that was designed for notebooks as well as tablets. It has enough power to handle day-to-day multimedia and office tasks but not so much the very demanding software or the latest games. The PC that is reviewed on this page is certified refurbished with almost none or no wear and comes with original accessories and 90 day warranty.

HP Pavilion x2 comes with the AMD Elite Mobility A6-1450 accelerated processor (2MB L2 cache) at 1.0 GHz speed up to 1.4GHz with turbo, 4GB DDR3 SDRAM (1 DIMM) for smooth multitasking, 64GB Solid State Drive for responsiveness, improved reliability and overall faster performance and Windows 8.1 operating system that is optimised for touch devices- You can use the Windows 8.1 apps and functions comfortably on the touchscreen display. This AMD A6 CPU is a very low voltage one and was released at the beginning of 2013.

13.3 inch diagonal high definition LED- backlit IPS touchscreen display with 178 degree viewing angles, 1366 x 768 maximum pixel resolution and AMD Radeon HD 8250 graphics card with up to 2048MB total graphics memory offers good image quality overall- for net surfing and basic multimedia although not outstanding like Full HD or above resolutions, it is at least great to have the IPS feature. Sound is satisfactory with DTS Sound+ and through the stereo speakers. Webcam is front-facing 1MP HP TrueVision HD with dual digital microphones. 13.3 inch feels like the right size for a 2-in-1 laptop and tablet machine. Radeon 8250 graphics card is an integrated one that shares the memory of the CPU and its performance is equal to the discrete Radeon HD 6450M and almost like Intel HD 4000. You can play the older games fluently but not so much the current games as it is a little slow for them.

HP Pavilion x2- 13-p120ca- 13.3 inch 2-in-1 Detachable Notebook- Tablet Review
Graphite HP Pavilion x2 weighs 4.9 pounds with dimensions of 1 x 9.05 x 13.38 inches- is neither too small nor too big, and is just right for portability. It offers up to 5 hours of average battery life from its 33wh lithium polymer battery. You can type comfortably on its full-size island-style non-backlit keyboard without the numeric pad. There is no DVD drive but 802.11bgn wireless, Bluetooth 4.0, 1 x USB 2.0 port, 1 x USB 3.0 port, an HDMI port, no VGA output, Memory Card Reader that is MicroSD, SD and MMC compatible, microphone input and integrated microphone. The case is plastic but feels solid and durable with a proper build quality, same goes for the hinges as they feel stiff and solid- they keep the lid stable when you touch the display.

Conclusion: HP Pavilion x2-13-p120ca is a decent 13.3 inch laptop and tablet in one. It has a 64GB SSD and this seems to make everything feel faster- wakes up from hibernation and boots up from off very quickly. It is great that this HP has a touchscreen and the IPS feature with large viewing angles and can be quickly converted to a tablet- great to use with Windows 8.1 operating system and is reported to be easy to navigate. You will enjoy the versatility and convenience it offers as a tablet and laptop for sure- perhaps laptop to get work done and tablet more for fun. It comes with a 90 day warranty, being a certified refurbished model. The price is more than fair for the features, quality, functionality and versatility this PC offers- it is much cheaper than having a proper computer and a tablet separately. Just keep in mind neither the processor nor the graphics card is fit for playing the latest 3D games and very complex software, but great for daily multimedia and office tasks.
